Everyone wants to get fit these days. Since our lifestyles are so fast-paced with erratic timings, we tend to eat unhealthily and sleep less. This is why we need to keep fit whether we have time for it or not. In such scenarios where taking time out for workouts is hard, we need to keep fit while we work during the day. There are many accessories that can help you track your heart rate and steps you take during the entire day. It is said that one needs to complete walking 10,000 steps a day. This mark was first discovered by Japanese pedometers in the 1960s called Manpo-Kei which means ‘10,000 steps meter’. According to research, walking 10k steps a day burns about 2000-3000 calories a week and burning 0.5kgs take 3500 calories hence, to lose extra body fat it is good to typically walk that many steps. We suggest you start tracking your steps either via an app on your phone or a fitness band to start with. To make sure you achieve walking enough, here are a few things you could do to increase your step count.
1. Take The Stairs
Don’t take the shortcut of an elevator. Instead, climb those stairs no matter what floor you’ve gotta arrive at.
2. Dance!
Take 30 minutes out of your day to dance it out! Dancing burns a lot of calories and will help you achieve your 10k goal.
3. Grocery Shopping
Take extra laps at the supermarket and make sure to walk around as much as possible.
4. Take Frequent Bathroom Breaks
Drink a lot of water and that’ll ensure you rush to the washroom frequently. This will help you keep yourself hydrated and also walk to the washroom often!
5. Take Frequent Breaks
Instead of sitting in your chair all day (if you have a desk job), make sure you time yourself and take frequent breaks. During these breaks, make sure to take a few laps of the office. This will not only help you take more steps but also clear your mind.
6. Walk And Talk
Instead of talking on the phone while sitting at your desk, make sure to stand up and start walking every time your phone rings.
7. Go For A Walk
Take some time out in the day to walk in the morning or evening, whatever fits your schedule. This will help you cover up a lot of steps for the day.
So, it’s time to get fit and achieve the 10k step count every day!
