Stress has become a perpetual part of our life. While we give a lot of importance to our work, we often end up ignoring our mental and physical well-being. Going to the workplace in a stressed mood is never a good option. It can actually impact our productivity.
Although getting rid of stress completely from our life is a huge task, we can always try to include some activities that will make us happier. Our daily routine plays a huge role in determining what our day is going to look like, and how we are going to feel at the end of it.
So, we reached out to Natasha Mohan, Celebrity Dietitian, Yoga and Fitness Trainer, and asked her to share some super-easy and effective stress-inducing activities we can include in our daily routine. Read on to know all that she shared!
1. Start Your Day On A Positive Note
It’s not difficult to start the day in a positive mood. Take 15 minutes out of your schedule to meditate. This will help you calm your mind and release negativity. You will feel more relaxed and stress-free.
2. Cook For Yourself
Cooking is considered to be extremely therapeutic. While you may be tempted to order in sometimes, making food for yourself is a different pleasure altogether. Find some easy recipes on the internet, put on some good music, and start cooking. Not only would your stomach, your soul would be happier too.
3. Start Journaling
What can be a better stress-buster than writing down your thoughts? While you can’t scream out all your inner thoughts to the world, you can always pen them down. It is a great way to clear away any negative thoughts. Also, writing down in those cute journals or diaries will definitely add a spark to your daily life.
4. Nurture Your Hobbies
Do you love making doodles? Or singing songs? It’s time to bring back those childhood hobbies to cheer you up. Make sure to spend 15 to 20 minutes after work on your hobbies. Creating your own YouTube channel or having an Instagram page may encourage you even more to give yourself a break from the mundane routine.
5. Take A Walk
Nature has always been the greatest healer. Stop slouching on your sofa and go for a walk. Put on some soothing music while walking and you will be definitely report feeling more stress-free.
6. Indulge In Self-Care
Looking after yourself is not a bad idea after all. Having a little bit of me-time, indulging in self-care activities like taking long baths or sitting with your favorite books with some scented candles, can make you feel really good.
7. Read Books
The best way to release stress is to get lost in a story. Reading books will divert your mind and take you to different places. Also, since stress causes a lot of sleeping problems, reading books will help tackle that issue as well.
8. Engage In Physical Activity
You need to relax your body and mind. Taking up physical activities like dancing, Zumba, swimming, running or playing any sport. These are easy ways to let go of stress. Just 30 minutes of any of these physical activities will energise you, relax your muscles, and shoot up your happy hormones.
9. Sleep Like A Baby
Aren’t we all guilty of binging one episode too many of our favorite series, and then end up sleeping for only four hours or so? Inadequate sleep directly impacts your work and increases your stress level. A minimum of seven hours of sleep is necessary. Spray on some soothing essential oils like lavender on your pillow or have a cup of calming chamomile tea, and you will be able to sleep a lot better.
Leading a happier life is not too difficult if you include these super-easy and helpful activities in your daily life.
