Dog therapy is the best kind of therapy, don’t you agree? And if you’re a working adult, most of y’all would agree that we’d love to have access to this therapy more often! You might have heard about ‘bring your dog to work’ days or must have seen it happen in your office. Even though you might not have a dog to bring to work, you can always have fun with your co-workers’ dogs. But what if this could become an everyday thing? What if all companies became pet-friendly? It would be the best decision ever made, I am sure! But if you aren’t so sure about this, here are a few reasons to consider that may change your mind.
You Get To Have Healthy Breaks
If you’re a dog parent, you know how important it is to take them out on regular walks. So when you take them to work, that does not mean the walks can be skipped.
Taking small breaks from work to walk the dogs can be a great physical activity in the office hours which will help you feel refreshed and stay healthy. It will also help give your brain a good breather. I’d say it’s the perfect stressbuster! And since dogs have such high energy in them, we’ll have no choice but to be active too. And what could be better than to be around this kind of joyous, calming and playful energy on a hectic working day?
Helps In Forming Better Relationships
When working in moderate to large-sized company, it may not be possible to get to know people working in other teams and departments and be friends with them. But when someone has a pup, it increases the chances of other people coming up to their desk and initiating a conversation. Dogs have been known to be one of the best ice-breakers and it applies in this situation very well. Co-workers get to bond over dogs and the team becomes close-knit. A co-worker you never talked to might turn out to be a dog lover and would volunteer to take your dog out on a walk for you too!
Brings Out The Creativity
When you have such cute furballs in your office, you’re bound to think more creatively. Introducing dogs to the workplace is a cool idea that could help in enhancing the brand image as well as the creativity of the organization. It could be an idea of an in-house activity with the dogs too. Since you now have a new element in the office every day which is fun and wasn’t there before, it opens doors to creativity.
Do you think all companies should become pet-friendly and allow people to bring dogs every day with them? Let us know what are your thoughts on this in the comments below.
