We love instagram at the MissMalini office and I personally turn to instagram anytime I am running low on yoga inspiration. Here are ten yogis I love and hope you will too!
1. @laurasykora
Laura Kasperzak is a wife, mother, yoga teacher, and self proclaimed handstand addict with over 1,000,000 followers. Just looking at the number of followers, you know she must be a powerhouse. My favorite thing about @lauraskoya is watching her family grow in their practice as well. Read just a few of her posts on the benefits of yoga with your child and you will understand why she makes it a priority to incorporate her family into her passion.
2. @yoga_girl
Rachel Brathen‘s instagram profile has just under 1,000,000 followers and opens with “I want you to love you.” Does it get any better than that? Oh wait, it does. She not only documents her yoga practice, but shows off her drinking and dancing skills as well. It is hard to put into words how much Rachel Brathen has inspired me. She’s all about love, and I love that.
3. @GypsetGoddess
Caitlin Turner describes herself as ‘just a girl traveling the world, enjoying life, spreading love and sharing yoga” and she does just that. What she forgot to include in her profile with 207,000 followers was that she is just a girl with the longest legs and most graceful movements, ever. If you take a look at her profile, you will see many silhouette photos. Here at MissMalini and Love From Bombay, we love them and the idea behind their corresponding hashtag #embraceyouroutline which is all about self love.
4. @BeachYogaGirl
Kerri Verna is a wife, mother, yoga teacher, and photographer with close to 600,000 followers. The first thing you will notice about @beachyogagirl is her absurd amount of strength and serious six pack. All thanks to yoga… which she did not start until she was 30! The second thing is how in love she is with her husband who has the cutest instagram handle ever created, @inlovewithbeachyogagirl. Seriously! They both speak openly about how hard they worked towards creating such an infectious love. You’d never believe at one point they were dealing with incredible obstacles to overcome together including addiction. Kerri Verna makes me believe anything is possible and happy endings do exist.
5. @KinoYoga
Kino MacGregor is an author, world traveler and 4th series Ashtangi with over 400,000 followers on instagram. If you’ve ever practiced Ashtanga, you know how challenging the primary series is, so I can’t even imagine the 4th series. Go Kino! The thing I love most about @kinoyoga is she smiles in every pose, including asanas that involve legs behind the head. Super flexible. Super dedicated. Super yogi. Super cute. P.S. Rumor has it she spends quite a bit of time in Mysore!
6. @talia_sutra
Talia Peretz describes herself as an NYC based yoga teacher, urban hippie, and vegan foodie on her profile with 40,000 followers. She’s stunning, ultra bendy, and takes asanas to the extreme. Simply put, she’s my girl crush.
7.@carsonclaycalhoun
I have yet to post a #CCCmademedoit photo, but if anyone can inspire me to get my silly on in yoga photos it’s Carson Clay Calhoun. He makes rocket yoga look like it’s a walk in the park to his 55,000 followers and keeps everyone laughing. Follow @carsonclaycalhoun and you will see lots of inversions, dance moves, beat boxing, and rocket yoga videos. Oh, and ladies, according to a recent post he is single!
8. @patrickbeach
There’s just something about this bearded yogi and 180,000 other instagram users agree. Patrick Beach is pretty dang easy on the eyes and he’s super talented. If I did not already convince you to check out the eye candy, he also posts photos of his cat and partner yoga with his equally beautiful girlfriend. Sold?
9. @acrovision
Two for one deal on this account with 13,000 followers. Dylan Werner and Ashley Galvin are both gorgeous and move together like they are one. I am a huge fan of partner yoga and its many benefits to all parties involved. Plus it looks super cool. You can follow these crazy kids on their individual handles as well, @dylanwerneryoga and @ashleygalvinyoga.
10. @pocketdwarf
Melissa Lee is a wife, mommy, yogi, and proud Canadian with 41,000 followers. The first time I saw a photo of hers, I was floored. She has a wonderful eye and more talent in her little pinky than most. I love the way @pocketdwarf combines the beauty of yoga with nature to make the most stunning photos. Every so often she even posts pictures of her little girl. Bonus.
