With the summer on the way, Veda is getting restless being stuck at home. Thankfully, My Gym Children’s Fitness Center has reopened! Due to an electrical fire in the building a few months ago, they had to close for renovations. Now, the building has upped all their fire safety standards and My Gym is ready for fun!
Veda was so excited to be back at My Gym, that she ran right in to explore the new setup. She attended the Waddlers session which followed the standard structure of warm up, exploring the gym, scheduled activities, free-play and a winding down puppet song.
The first activity used a hula-hoop and a square skateboard. The babies were placed belly down on the board and instructed to hold the hula-hoop, while the parents pulled them around. Unfortunately, Veda just wanted to play with the Hula-hoop and wouldn’t lay on the board. The other kids were having a blast!
Another activity involved developing the babies arms muscles. I was really impressed that Veda went to the bars all on her own and was really happy hanging by her arms!
She was also super brave and first to try doing flips on the cushioned mat. She had so much fun, that she did it twice!
During the free time she went right to the Ball pit. Though this time, she spent just as much time playing on the cushioned stairs and ramp that led up to the pit. It was a good way for her to build her confidence in climbing.
They had added a new “roller coaster” activity this week, which looked really fun. They placed the toddlers on a little car and wheeled them down the ramp. Veda couldn’t stop laughing!
As always, the swing set up was very unique. They had the standard swings hanging but had a “water bed” swing. This way two babies could lie together and rock back and forth. It looked very soothing!
During the last free play, the My Gym staff set up a ring and placed different toys out for babies to explore. The parents are instructed to leave the babies on their own to help with their social development. Veda had fun playing with the blocks and making her own castle.
Before winding down, the My Gym team played a running game with the kids. They would shout different “stop” and “go” words and let the kids run from one side of the room to the other. Great way to learn word association and get some exercise too!
The class then drew to an end with the musical puppet show. Veda really loves this part and always tries to cuddle the puppets.
We are really excited to have My Gym back up and running. It’s a great way for Veda to spend her morning and build her appetite! They even have a My Gym Summer Camp starting April 15th till July 25th. This will be for children who are 2.5 – 6yrs old from 10am -1pm. My Gym Summer Camp will include sports skills, relay, games, arts, crafts and more! For more information regarding camp you can call 26517000 or 9619969496.
