After his mega win, a lot of polarizing opinions were shared on social media. While his fans celebrated his long-due win, others felt that he didn’t deserve it for this film. They believe he should have received the National Award for his incredible work in films like My Name Is Khan, Chak De! India, Swades, and Kal Ho Naa Ho.

Both sides make valid points, but in the middle of this conversation has now entered B-Town’s most loved filmmaker, Imtiaz Ali, who has openly supported SRK.

Imtiaz Ali told IANS that it is a moment of pride: “No no, if the country has honored him, it’s obviously a big thing. I would like to congratulate Shah Rukh Khan and all the people who got this big award. Thank you,” he said.

Imtiaz Ali and SRK had previously collaborated on the romantic drama Jab Harry Met Sejal. Although the film didn’t perform well at the box office, fans of the filmmaker and the actor now rewatch the film and get nostalgic because of its storytelling. They feel connected to the character of Harry and want people to give the film another chance. Interestingly, Imtiaz Ali had once called this film “an unfortunate child.

After JHMS, he directed Amar Singh Chamkila, which featured Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh and Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra. The film was released on an OTT platform and did exceptionally well, receiving applause from critics as well as love from the public for its brilliant music and perfect depiction of the lost Punjabi musician, Chamkila.

Now once again, Imtiaz Ali is collaborating with Diljit Dosanjh, alongside Naseeruddin Shah and Vedang Raina, for a new project that is scheduled to hit the big screens in 2026.

On the other hand, SRK is gearing up for the big debut of his beloved daughter, Suhana Khan. The film, titled King, is said to feature an ensemble cast of multiple celebrities from both Bollywood and the South Indian film industry. If rumors are to be believed, this might mark Suhana Khan’s grand entry into the film industry.
