Hema Malini took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared how she is reflecting on their decades-long journey, calling Dharmendra a loving partner and devoted father to their girls Esha and Ahana, and a constant source of strength. She referred to him as her guide and confidant, the one to whom she instinctively turned during difficult times.

“He was everything to me,” she wrote, remembering how he would so easily connect with her family because of his warm and genuine interest in others.
Hema also brought up his towering presence in Indian cinema and the humility that came with such great stardom. She said his ability to capture the hearts of generations made him a singular figure whose legacy remained etched in the annals of filmmaking. However, beneath the public admiration lay her deepest sorrow; she confessed that the void left by his departure was “indescribable, a silence she expects to live with for the rest of her life. The memories they built together, she added, are now what she holds closest.

Dharmendra, known as Bollywood’s He-Man, breathed his last on November 24. He was 89 years old. The funeral rites took place at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, and many known faces arrived one after another. Amitabh Bachchan, Saira Banu, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone were among the early visitors, while Shah Rukh Khan, Govinda, and a number of other colleagues and friends from the industry paid homage later.
The actor was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on November 10 due to deteriorating health, but was shifted home soon after. Despite the efforts of the family members, he breathed his last surrounded by them. Dharmendra leaves behind his wives, Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and six children, Sunny, Bobby, Vijeta, Ajeita, Esha, and Ahana, along with a legacy that includes classics such as Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke, and Ayee Milan Ki Bela.
