‘Singham’ is the film that kicked off Rohit Shetty’s epic journey into the RS Cop Universe, and after 13 action-packed years, he’s back with a bang in ‘Singham Again‘. Starring Ajay Devgn as the iconic ‘Bajirao Singham’, this much-anticipated sequel had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. So, did it live up to the hype? Let’s dive into the review!

From the moment the 4-minute trailer dropped, the internet buzzed with excitement and speculation. With much of the plot laid bare, I wondered if the movie could still surprise us. Having seen it, I can confidently say that it delivers a full-throttle masala experience that will leave you cheering.

The film kicks off in the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir, where Singham steps up to protect the region. But when danger comes knocking at his door, the stage is set for an intense battle to save both his family and his country. Rohit Shetty weaves elements from ‘Sooryavanshi’s’ climax seamlessly into the story, making it feel organic rather than forced. Jackie Shroff returns to the franchise, adding depth to the narrative as the stakes rise. This time, it’s personal. When Singham’s beloved Kareena Kapoor Khan, who plays ‘Avni’, is kidnapped by the slick and sinister ‘Danger Lanka’ (Arjun Kapoor), the tension ramps up. And who doesn’t love a good rescue mission? Enter Singham’s squad, the Shiva Squad, ready to kick some serious butt!

Ajay Devgn returns to the franchise the third time and the man brings his A game on. His persona adds to the valour to his character and his nuances add the perfect spice to the story telling. The man knows how to own every frame he is in and he does exactly that with so much charisma, wit and charm.

First up in this squad is the fierce lady Singham, ‘Shakti Shetty’, portrayed by the fabulous Deepika Padukone. Her entry is nothing short of explosive, and she fully embodies the power of her character. Watching her deliver her role with such intensity makes me hopeful for a solo ‘Shakti Shetty’ film in the future.

And then there’s Tiger Shroff as ‘Satya Bali’. Known for his jaw-dropping stunts, Tiger shines in this film. Rohit has done an excellent job weaving Tiger’s real-life skills into the narrative, and it pays off—his on-screen moments are thrilling and engaging!

Now, brace yourself for the second half: Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar make their glorious entrances, and they do not disappoint! Ranveer’s arrival is a build-up of excitement—he lights up the screen with his irresistible charm and hilarious one-liners as Hanuman.

And then comes Akshay Kumar, the Khiladi himself. His timing is impeccable, and witnessing the camaraderie between him and Ranveer is a pure delight. Together, they inject a sarcastic, cheeky energy that makes the film even more enjoyable.

Kareena as ‘Avni’ is a revelation. She brings a blend of elegance and strength to her character. Her portrayal draws splendid parallels to Goddess Sita, grounding the narrative in rich emotion. Watching her hold her ground amidst the chaos is empowering and captivating.

Last but certainly not least is Arjun Kapoor as ‘Danger Lanka’. From his very first scene, he commands attention. His introduction is fierce, establishing him as a formidable antagonist. Arjun’s blend of intelligence and cunning as Ravan adds a delicious twist to the narrative, complemented by his charisma and that unforgettable evil laugh. It’s one of his best performances yet!

Rohit has truly done his homework, adapting timeless tales from the Ramayana into a modern context while keeping us on our toes. The film is packed with thrilling moments, though I found myself wishing a few surprises hadn’t been leaked in the trailer. Imagine the gasps of shock in the theatre if we had been taken by surprise! Despite a few predictable moments, “Singham Again” emerges as a full-blown entertainer, perfect for moviegoers this Diwali. Rohit Shetty and his team have crafted a vibrant spectacle, and to top it all off, there’s a special cameo by Salman Khan as Chulbul Pandey that adds an exciting twist! So, gather your family and get ready for an entertaining ride! I’m giving “Singham Again” a solid 3.5 stars. Don’t miss it in theatres, and I can’t wait to hear what you think! Happy Diwali, everyone!
