Vedang Raina made his acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’ last year alongside popular star kids like Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, and Agastya Nanda. In a recent interview, the young talent revealed that he had auditioned for the role of ‘Archie’ that was played by Agastya Nanda before bagging the role of ‘Reggie’. Here’s what Vedang Raina had to say…
In conversation with Teen Vogue Magazine, Vedang Raina shared that he had originally auditioned for the titular role of ‘Archie’, which was later played by Agastya Nanda. “I was very invested in Archie’s character because he’s a musician just like me. I was a bit upset that I was going to be this bad guy on screen,” Vedang revealed. The actor further developed into the character of ‘Reggie’, which he initially found to be a misfit for him to play onscreen. “I heard the brief of the character and I realized that there’s a lot more depth to ‘Reggie’,” Vedang added. Both roles were unique in their own way, and I feel Vedang would do justice to whichever character he plays, as he’s shown immense potential.
Vedang Raina received a lot of praise from the fans for his portrayal of ‘Reggie Mantle’ in ‘The Archies’. The actor will next be seen in Vasan Bala’s ‘Jigra’ alongside Alia Bhatt, which is scheduled to release theatrically on September 27 this year.
