Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week, in partnership with FDCI, was called Sustainable Fashion Day, and it unfolded some really beautiful runway designs. I truly liked how they dedicated an entire day to sustainability, as it was the need of the hour. Have a look at the highlights of the second day:
1. Inca, Til, and Yavi’s Collection
Inca, Til, and Yavi unveiled their latest collection, highlighting sustainable fashion with clothes that promised glamour as well as unparalled comfort. The actor-activist looked beautiful in Inca’s latest collection as she walked the runway.
2. Gaurang Shah’s Pink-Hued Designs
Gaurang’s Lakm Fashion Week Spring/Festive collection is called ‘Gulaal’. The collection in the versatile color pink had lehengas and sarees embroidered with long-forgotten embroidery like Mochi, Parsi Gada, Petite Point, Kasuti, Phulkari, Kutch, and Kashmiri.
3. Tea Cultures of the World x Chola
Chola by Sohaya Misra and Tea Culture of the World celebrated the fusion of fashion and tea culture, embodying confidence, individuality, and empowerment with an emphasis on inclusivity and authenticity. Actress Neha Dhupia and Konkona Sensharma’s amazing walk in black and white ensembles set the runway on fire for the collection.
4. Urvashi Kaur’s U’Core
Urvashi Kaur’s U’Core brought contrasting selvedges to the forefront, piecing fabrics together with minute jaali work and creating artistry with stitch line details and hand block print with Ratna Pathak Shah, Tillotama Shome, Rasika Dugal, Mallika Dua, Faraz Ansani, Shweta Tripathi, Santanu Hazarika, and her mother, Anupama Singh, rocking the runway for this beautiful collection.
5. R|Elan X JJV Kapurthala
The R|Elan X JJV Kapurthala collection ensured both style and sustainability on Day 2 of the Sustainable Fashion Day at Lakmē Fashion Week. From reducing textile waste to enhancing garment performance, JJV seamlessly integrates ethical practices into its design ethos.
