Ajay Devgn’s film ‘Raju Chacha’ recently completed 23 years. Released on December 21, 2000, the film featured Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Rishi Kapoor along with Sanjay Dutt in a special appearance. Ajay Devgn took to his social media handles to share a heartfelt post as the Hindi language action comedy film celebrates this special milestone. Here’s what Ajay Devgn had to say…
“Reflecting on 23 years of #RajuChacha, a film that holds my heart for many reasons. Anil’s directorial debut paved the way for me to embody Raju, a man deeply rooted in emotion, despite walking on the wrong side of the law. This movie gave me the opportunity to work with kids for the first time, who made things so much more fun on set, and to share the screen with Rishi Ji for the very first time, a memory I’ll always hold close to my heart. And amidst it all, @kajol stood as my steadfast partner, on and off screen, offering unwavering support. As I look back, I can only feel gratitude for having been a part of this film!,” Ajay Devgn wrote in the caption of the heartwarming post.
The premise of the film ‘Raju Chacha’ revolves around Shekhar (played by Ajay Devgn), a con artist who falls in love with Anna (played by Kajol), the governess of three children belonging to the wealthy widower Siddhant Rai (played by Rishi Kapoor). After Siddhant’s death, his children are placed under the custody of their scheming relatives and the character of Ajay Devgn poses as Rajit Rai, the long lost brother of Siddhant to save the three children and their fortune.
