Rajinikanth is all set to return to the big screen with his next film ‘Jailer’. The countdown has begun for the much-awaited action-packed spectacle, directed by Nelson. This high-octane film is all set to hit screens on August 10 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages, promising a cinematic treat for fans across the globe. The hype is so big, that many offices in his home state of Chennai, and in Bengaluru have announced holidays for employees on August 10. As per a Times Of India story, Nelson’s action-packed film Jailer is made on a budget of 225 Cores, out of which, a chunk of it was taken home by the star-studded cast. Rajinikanth himself took home 48% of the film’s budget, that is, he charged a whopping 110 Crores for his role in the film. The actor is returning to the screen after 2 years of hiatus and is sure to pull crowds like no one else in the industry. Mohanlal on the other hand is charging 8 Crores for his role. Siva Rajkumar, for his cameo in Jailer, was paid 4 Crores. We also have Jackie Shroff who was paid 4 Crores for playing one of the villains in the film. And lastly, we have Tamannaah Bhatia who stunned the fans with her dance number and was paid 4 Crores for the film.
There were also talks about who would play the villain in this film, and the contenders were Mammootty or Kamal Haasan. The makers of the film recently dropped the trailer of Jailer, check it out below…
