Akshay Kumar is now featuring in Oh My God 2 which will be released in theatres on August 11, 2023. Alongside Akshay Kumar, even Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi will be featured in this film. The CBFC reviewed OMG 2 and the trailer was granted a U/A Certificate. The film was given 27 cuts and changes and now some of those changes and cuts have been revealed.
According to a report from Filmfare, As per the updated production changes to comply with CBC guidelines, the film’s beginning will now feature a voiceover instead of the original opening scenes. Additionally, Akshay Kumar, who was initially cast as the character of Lord Shiva, will now portray the role of the Messenger of God. The film was modified to meet CBC guidelines, including the replacement of frontal nudity with Naga Sadhu’s visuals, altering scenes of Akshay Kumar’s character meditating and bathing, and appropriately editing or removing drunk scenes. References deemed controversial were cut from a temple dialogue, the school’s name was changed to ‘Savoday’, and all alcohol-related references were removed. To respect religious sentiments, references to sacred figures and texts were taken out, as well as a dialogue about the High Court. Even the label on a rat poison bottle was modified. These changes were carefully made to improve the film while maintaining its essence.
The trailer of the OMG 2 has really intrigued me and I am looking forward to this film. It seems like a promising movie from the trailer, and Pankaj, Akshay, and Yami have aced it from the glimpse shown and have added to my excitement towards this film. I will surely watch this film in theatres this August and you should too!
