Blue Beetles is about Jamie Reyes, a young college boy who unexpectedly becomes a superhero called Blue Beetle when a scarab attaches to him, giving him special abilities. Using his newfound powers, he battles criminals and ensures the safety of the city’s residents. However, things take a twist when CEO Victoria Kord and her bodyguard Carapax begin chasing Jamie upon discovering his extraordinary powers.

Jaime gets captured by Kord and Carapax, resulting in his family home being burned down and his father Alberto passing away due to a heart attack. We later learn that Kord wants to steal the code of Jaime’s scarab to upgrade Carapax and build her own army. After Kord extracts the code from Jaime, he connects with the scarab’s Khaji-Da. This connection empowers him to break free from Kord’s control and regain his freedom. Using a bubble gum prototype found at her dad’s spot, Jenny crashes Kord’s chopper. She grabs the scarab code, obliterating it. When Jaime’s powers return, he battles Carapax, now supercharged. Eventually, Jaime triumphs and wants to end Carapax, who took his father’s life. But Khaji-Da, the scarab’s voice, opposes this. Carapax was being controlled by Kord. Jaime spares Carapax, yet he sacrifices himself to take Kord down. Explosions follow, destroying weaponized scarabs, Carapax, and Kord. Jenny becomes Kord’s new boss, ditching weaponry plans. Alberto is honored, and Jenny pledges to rebuild Jaime’s house.
