Pamela Chopra, passed away this morning, on the 20th of April at the age of 74. The playback singer and wife of Yash Chopra and mother to Uday Chopra and Aditya Chopra, had not been keeping well for a while now and had been admitted to Lilavati hospital for the past 15 days. As per reports, she was kept on ventilator but her health deteriorated immensely soon after. The cause of her death hasn’t been revealed yet, nor have details about her last rites.
She has recently featured in Netflix’s documentary, The Romantics, which was a tribute to Yash Chopra and his work over the years. It was produced by none other than Uday Chopra. She has also been a playback singer for songs in films like Kabhie Kabhie (1976) to Mujhse Dosti Karoge! (2002). The 1993 film Aaina was independently produced by her. Pamela also co-wrote the script of her husband’s 1997 film Dil To Pagal Hai along with her husband Yash Chopra. It is also said that Yash ji often reached out to his wife Pamela to check in on the perspective.
