This week felt like Mumbai’s own version of the Met in a multiverse of our dreams. We are all still hungover from Dior’s fashion serve by the stars and here’s another promenade by the Bollywood and Hollywood A-listers, descending at the red carpet of the grand opening of Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, last night. Calling the NACC an ode to India’s legacy and cultural heritage, Mr. and Mrs. Ambani go on to describe their lifelong dream and vision for country’s art and it’s patronage. In honour of preserving, creating and reaching new heights under the realm of Indian Arts, the grand opening had a Bharatanatyam performance special by Nita Ambani. The performance was the part of a historic play directed by Feroz Abbas Khan titled “The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation”.
Isha Ambani while headstarting the series of events at the launch, describes in her speech the cultural center’s vision as, “A journey to rejuvenate and reimagine creative experiences and expressions. A journey to encourage and nurture talent no matter where it comes from. To give a platform and voice to the arts, the artists, and you, our very dear audiences.” The show’s audience included renown guests and celebrities from Bollywood and Hollywood. From the four Khans to Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Emma Chamberlain and Nick Jonas along with Priyanka Chopra, the night was full of exciting fashion moments.
