Before his highly anticipated film could even hit the theatres, Bollywood superstar, Ajay Devgn has announced the release date of his next. Titled Maidaan, the film is based on the real-life story of Syed Abdul Rahim, who serves as the coach and Manager of India’s National Football Team from 1950 to 1963. This sports drama is all set to release on the big screen, on 23rd June.

Ajay Devgn took to Instagram to drop the poster for this film, where we see him holding a cigarette with a lot of grit and determination in his eyes. The poster reads ‘One Man, One Belief, One Spirit’, which encapsulates the plot of the film, which is based on the struggles of the national football team winning a medal for the country at the Olympics. The film is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma of the Badhai Do fame, and produced by Boney Kapoor. There is a special treat for all Ajay Devgn fans this 30th March! The teaser of his upcoming film ‘Maidaan’ will be attached with the action-adventure ‘Bholaa’ for the audience to experience it on the big screen.
The film’s release has been postponed multiple times, and the recent update on its release date is said to be 23rd June. The film also features Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and noted Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh and is sure to be an interesting watch.
