Over the years, I have seen how the bond between PR and celebrities has strengthened in this industry. Now while they go hand in hand, PRs lead a life very close to celebs and I am sure they have many exciting stories to share. Our latest Bollywood Superhero is one such person who entered the industry by accident but chose to stick around for almost six years now. Yes, she is PR Professional Heenal Shah who has worked with the biggest brands in the media world. Currently working closely on Zee 5, Heenal has had an exciting journey which she shares in this interview…
Sharing how it all began, Heenal says…
For me, PR was like an accident, I never envisioned working in this industry. One of my friend working for a well-known PR agency suggested an internship there. I decided to give it a shot, first few months in the industry felt like a jigsaw puzzle. I was working on real estate and banking clients which never excited me, I always wished to work in the entertainment field. But when I started working in the entertainment industry, every day the sun sets late for us and rises early, its a new challenge and I have to push my boundaries that I never thought I could. During the early stage of PR, there were lot of learnings and it all helped me to reach where I am today.
Heenal also shared an impressive list of projects that she has worked on…
I have worked on multiple celebrities and projects in these 6 years. I must admit that it’s the most glamourous, exciting six years of my life. OTT brands like Voot Select and ZEE5 has always kept me on toes. During the whole journey, I have been part of around 45 plus shows and movie launches like Bigg Boss OTT, TAJ: Divided By Blood, Chattriwali, amongst others, I also handled celebrities like Suresh Raina, Aahana Kumra amongst others.
But Heenal’s special memory will be that of Bigg Boss, she shares…
Working on Bigg Boss OTT was indeed very special. Every roadblock during the journey pushed me to work on something better. The most heartwarming moment of my career was that I had cracked my first ever magazine cover story for a cricket player. I love what I do and it’s the inner desire that keeps me going each day. It’s the love and passion for the field and dedication for working on the exciting brands keeps me going. Like I say, its not PR anymore for me, it’s ‘PR-Yaar’
On a parting note, a piece of advice that Heenal shares for all is that…
Being a PR professional is not easy, one must have the desire and passion towards the job. They should be able to communicate and think of solutions on the spot. The most important is the never give up attitude. Don’t take this job as something that gives you bread and butter, if you give your full heart and energy then there is no stopping.
I must say that’s very well said, on that note, I wish Heenal all the very best in all her future endeavors.
