After an exciting first day at the Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI, Day 2 had a lot more in store for us! Check out the looks from Day 1 Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI, if you haven’t already. From Tarun Tahilani to Abirr n Nanki, it was a dazzling night to remember. Bedazzling on the runway were names like Shilpa Shetty, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanya Malhotra, and Sobhita Dhulipala to name a few. Here are the designers who showcased their work on Day 2 of the Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI 2023
Deme by Gabriella, Flirtatious by Aakriti, Limerick by Abirr N’Nanki
Deme by Gabriella had a variety of designs, from chic outfits made out of washed denims to glamourous evening gowns, adding bedazzle to the show. While Limerick by Abirr n Nanki showcased and celebrated the rich culture of Kashmir with Shilpa Shetty walking down the ramp as the show stopper. Inspired by the show White Lotus, Flirtatious by Aakriti collection explored prints such as lemons and beach umbrellas, amalgamated with geometric elements such as checkerboard pool tiles and exposed brick walls. Sanya Malhotra walked the ramp as the show stopper in a saffron-coloured bikini blouse with a cut skirt and dupatta.
Line Outline by Deepti Chugh, Sameer Madan, Tisastudio
Line Outline with Deepti Chugh played heavily with streamlined design, asymmetry and geo patterns. What caught my eye is the solid tailoring on these pieces. Sameer Madan’s “Untamed” collection exuded a mix of fantasy, mystery, glitzy and bold. It truly brought back the 90s with the animal print on some chic silhouettes. Tisastudio’s Spring Summer’23 collection was a ready-to-wear collection of occasion wear strong on clean geometric patterns, which Gurfateh Pirzada walked as the show stopper for.
Itrh, Tanieya Khanija, Varun Nidhika
Itrh’s collection, “Dancing Queen” scream maximalism and I am all here for it. The designers revisited crystals and how! Swarovski and crystal element studded textiles, giving them a sheerer facade and a pastel overtone with a sleek out silhouette was a match made in heaven. Showstoppers Sonakshi Sinha bedazzled us with her walk, while you couldn’t take your eyes off soon-to-be mom, Antara Motiwala as she walked down the ramp. Marwah Tanieya Khanuja celebrated ‘Queen Moves Only’ with an ode to women who are always on the move. Comprising bodycon dresses, easy-to-wear sarees, and power pantsuits, the pieces were for women who mean business while staying in style. ‘Dreamsequence’ by Varun Nidhika brought a lightweight freshness to textiles with a palette of pearl whites, soft ash blues, desert rose and earthy charcoals.
Siddhartha Bansal
Siddhartha Bansal’s collection, ‘Seven Heaven’ was inspired by the free spirit of the 60s and 70s, with its prints and free-flowing silhouettes. Bansal, winner of the contest ‘The Spotlight by Nexa’ was all about ruffles and bright colours as the designer aimed to focus on unravelling a positive visual experience, eliciting vivid human senses, and had Sanjana Sanghi as its show stopper.
Lakmé Sheer Drama X Tarun Tahiliani Luxe Pret
Taruh Tahilani had the town talking about his show, and does one not when you have Sobhita Dhulipala as your show-stopper? With the rest of the collection having a pearly palette, Sobhita stood out in a starting red corset dress, with some very intricate drapes. A jaw-dropping moment for sure. The drapes in this show were truly the highlight, with light fabrics and regal looks all around.
Day 2 was a party with all the glitz and glamour. And I am sure Day 3 is not going to disappoint us. Stay tuned for more updates!
