Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI Day 1: Neha Dhupia, Rakul Preet Singh & Vijay Verma Walk The Ramp As Showstoppers

Lovina Netto

Fashion Week is one week I am sure all the fashion girlies cannot get enough of. Sustainability was one of the biggest themes of Day 1, and we also saw some faces from Bollywood as the showstoppers. Rakulpreet Singh, Vijay Verma, Neha Dhupia, stunned us all with their looks on the ramp. Here are the designers who showcased their work on Day 1 of the Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI 2023

INIFD presents GenNext

Brands like HIRO by Hiral Jajal, KoAI by Anugrah Chandra, KOYTOY by Kunaal Khyaan, and Rudraksh Dwivedi were introduced to us this year. KOYTOY’s relaxed vibes and funky prints also caught my attention. While KoAI brought some relaxed flowy fits to the runway, HIRO stunned us with its bold colours and textures, and absolutely stole the show, while Rudraksh sealed the night with its glitz and glam.

INIFD Launchpad

The students of INIFD created their collection around the concept of “East meets West”. Elements from both cultures, were seen seamlessly blended in their unique designs. The showstopper for the show Neha Dhupia, stole hearts in a flowy dress as she walked down the ramp.

Anavila

Anavila Misra’s designs on the runway showed us that a saree is not bound by zippers, buttons or belts. With free-flowing experimental drapes, this show was a treat for the eyes. Unorthodox drapes for when you get bored of your usual saree drapes.

Khadi India

Rakul Preet Singh and Vijay Varma walked the ramp as the show stoppers for designers Divyam Mehta, Shruti Sancheti, Suket Dhir, CoEk in Khaadi co-ord sets, only proved the potential Khaadi has in fashion.

Lakmé Salon x Vaishali S

With textures and prints inspired by azures of oceans and corals, the swooning fabrics in teal and deep blues truly brought out the glory of the marines. Vaishali truly stunned everybody with her larger-than-life designs on the runway with this show.

Circular Design Challenge Doodlage, Chamar and IRO IRO

Sustainability was on the cards for brands like Made From Waste by Kriti Tula, Chamar by Sudeep Rajbhar and IRO IRO by Bhavya Goenka. This one’s for those who shy away from sustainable brands. Chic clean looks and accesories all around.

After a great set of looks on Day1, I cannot wait to see what Day 2 has in store for us. Stay tuned for more updates.
