As Hollywood descended on the Golden Globes’ red carpet last night in Beverly Hills, California to celebrate and honour the best film and television performances, we saw some of the most glamorous beauty looks. From elaborate hairstyles to popping eyes, stars chose to outshine all the glitz that the awards offer. The event witnessed some celebratory moments from RRR’s Naatu Naatu song bringing home accolades and Rihanna congratulating the team for the same to Selena Gomez attending the awards with her little sister. In the Beauty space, here are my top 10 beauty moments by the Hollywood A-listers that made heads turns:
Selena Gomez
Rare Beauty founder, Selena Gomez appeared at the Golden Globes in a neatly done half ponytail, framing her countenance. For eyes, she matched her eyeshadow to her elaborate sleeves, highlighting the deep purple while balancing the look with nude lips and soft contour.
Rihanna
Our bad girl Riri had a major fashionable hair moment with a constructed loop bun at the back and a finger-coiled flick at the front. Her flawless base and glossy lips are immaculately accompanied by lustrous Cartier jewellery.
Milly Alcock
Mills has shown how to turn classics into glamorous. Her gelled-back hair is embellished with swarovski strings while the face-framing fringes fall naturally. I especially am fond of her black smokey eyes and nude glossy lips.
Jenna Ortega
On Wednesdays, we wear artsy eyeliners! Jenna’s dramatic eye makeup is a trend-worthy gig, it’s a sandwich of black winged eyeliner with white kajal in between and a whole lot of mascara-smeared lashes. Her peachy lips and cheeks draw silhouettes from the strappy dress and the messy curtain bang hair-do adds an oomph to the whole look.
Lily James
For glitter on eyes, there is no limit and Lilly proves it. The luminous eyes are finished with black eyeliner and an overlined nude lip. This 90’s makeup has been wed by a dramatic, extended flick at the front and loose curls.
PS- Fuller and brushed brows can never go wrong!
Salma Hayek
Hayek brings her best game to the red carpet with a messy low bun and soft glam makeup. The dewy base is absolutely matched by perfect pink lips and dreamy eyes.
Jessica Chastain
For minimalists who rejoice, Jessica’s makeup look is admirable. A perfected eyeliner and a natural-looking lip accentuate the fit. The sleek hair and a constructed bun at the back is a party of its own, having a clean girl look- moment.
Margot Robbie
Margot as Barbie never misses. The blonde waves frame her face in an organic manner. I can certainly get behind a flush of pink makeup, with wide eyes and popping lips.
Anya Taylor Joy
A freshly chiselled face with hues of deep blush, Anya is looking rather sharp with her brown smokey eyes and matching lips. A partial role on the side is an added fun element to her basic hairstyle.
Ana De Armas
Ana’s burnt ombre and brunette look is a show stealer. Her rosy pout looks fresh as a flower, while the gorgeous eyeliner keeps the red carpet look going.
With that, my handpicked looks come to an end. As makeup artists and hairstylists come together to create iconic looks, scrolling through red-carpet moments is always a joy!
