This almost felt like a personal loss, because of the massive impact his music had on me. It was a sudden demise, as he suffered a stroke mid performance. For someone who grew up listening to his songs, this one sent tremors across the nation.
2. Bappi Lahri
The nation truly lost an icon on. Bappi Lahri was famous for popularizing disco music in the 80’s and 90’s. We may have lost him, but his music lives on forever among us.
3. Lata Mangeshkar
One of the most famous singers passed away due to Covid complications. She was also known as the Nightingale of India and known worldwide in fact for her melodious voice.
4. Sidhu Moosewala
This rapper, who was a celebrated artist across the world, passed away in a fatal shooting which shocked his fans. He gave some songs which were rooted in trust and what a loss it has been for the music community.
5. Shiv Kumar Subramaniam
This actor who starred in movies like 2 States, Hichki, and many others passed away in Mumbai. Anurag Kayshyap penned down his feelings for the late actor in a heartfelt Instagram caption, along with many others from the fraternity.
6. Arun Bali
The actor who always felt like a sweet and familiar face in all his movies, passed away in his residence in Mumbai. He was played some iconic roles in some of the biggest blockbusters. To name a few, 3 idiots, Jab We Met, Lage Raho Munnabhai. His last film was Goodbye, alongside Amitabh Bachchan.
7. Vikram Gokhale
This actor who had a great name in Marathi and Hindi cinema, passed away recently. He played power packed roles in films like Singham, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Actors like Shabana Azmi, Johnny Lever also attended his prayer meet.
8. Raju Srivastav
This comedy legend, who made millions laugh every weekend when we turned on our TVs, passed away due to a heart attack he suffered while training in his gym. He was the face of stand up comedy in India before it was a thing here.
9. Queen Elizabeth II
The longest reigning monarch passed away at the age of 96. In February 2022, Britain celebrated her 70 years on the throne with a platinum jubilee. She took over the throne at the age of 25 and was loved by most.
