What a power packed year of performances 2022 has been. Some of these stellar performances also gave us the biggest blockbusters of the year. To name my few favorites, Alia Bhatt in Gangubai Kathiawadi, Hrithik Roshan in Vikram Vedha. Want to find out the rest? Find the top performances of 2022 below.
1. Alia Bhatt – Gangubai Kathiawadi
There was no performance as strong as Alia Bhatt in Gangubai Kathiawadi, in 2022. She deserves all the praise for this one. I doubt I read a bad review on this one, nor did I have anything particular that I would pick on. It was a treat watching her on screen, unwrap the powerful and beautiful character that she took on.
2. Ranbir Kapoor – Brahmastra
The actor was a part of one of the biggest blockbusters and played a massive role in that. The film was a massive hit, in cinemas and OTT alike. It also went on to become the most watched show on Hotstar. Alongside Alia, the actor gained a lot of praise for his smashing performance in the film, and rightly so.
3. Hrithik Roshan – Vikram Vedha
Hrithik’s performance of Vedha in this film, was stellar. Playing an anti-hero is no easy job, and the fact that he made me sympathize with his character is a big feat in itself. It was not easy to fill Vijay Sethupathi’s shoes, but Hrithik pulled it off very well.
4. Ranveer Singh – Cirkus
You just know the energy Ranveer Singh brings to every performance and role of his, and every time he seems to exceed my expectations. The movie was a riot of laughter, and Ranveer Singh was surely the ringmaster of the movie.
5. Ram Charan – RRR
There was no doubt about the star Ram Charan is. And he stood out with his performance in RRR this year. A power packed performance, with the onscreen energy moves that shook the nation, in Naatu Naatu. He deserves all the praise and more for this.
6. Kartik Aaryan – Freddy
It was refreshing to see Kartik Aaryan step out of his comfort zone, and his boyish charms into something more mysterious. We see him in a slicked down hair, putting on his sinister face alongside with Alaya F. Hoping to see him taken on more such roles in 2023.
7. Tabu – Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
It has been a great year for Tabu, blockbusters after blockbusters. The year ended with a bang for her, with Drishyam 2, but it also started on a high with Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Her double role in the film, made you truly empathize with spirit. Nothing something I thought I would find myself doing at the start of the film.
8. Kiara Advani – JugJugg Jeeyo
I was very happy seeing a more feisty side of Kiara in this movie. Who fought for her what she wanted and didn’t settle for anything less. It was heartwarming to see the onscreen bond she shared with Neetu Kapoor in the film.
9. Dulquer Salmaan – Sita Ramam
Dulquer being Dulquer, looks charming as ever, but also brings out his sharp side as he plays not just a lover in this film, but also as a Lieutenant. The film was received very well by the audience not just in cinema but also on OTT on its release
10. Vicky Kaushal – Govinda Naam Mera
From playing intense characters in Masaan, Raazi, this character was a turning point in his career as he took on a rather humorous character. A character who is done with his wife, and so in love with his girlfriend. His character is smart but silly, and that steals the cake for me!
