With the growing trend or as I like to call it, growing need to use sustainable products in every path of life. From homeware to clothing, people have now taken this route as a conscious choice. Here are some Bollywood beauties who bring their fashion A game to the table, with their sustainable choices. A constant debate is how sustainable clothes are not fashionable enough, well these beauties have surely ended all those debates.
Alia has always been a supporter of sustainable fashion. She was seen wearing a silver saree by the brand Bloni. It was made from waste recycled nylon and was combined with a metallic parachute. She looked beautiful as ever in the same. For Alia, it is not just about wearing sustainable fashion, but also about creating sustainable fashion with two of her own fashion brands – Ed-a-Mamma which offers kids wear and maternity wear.
In her last movie, Jagga Jaasos she made it a point to only wear sustainable clothes and brands as her effort to contribute to the sustainability aim. She is also seen voicing her opinion on the topic, in an interview she had said, “Most importantly, support fellow artisans with their innovations and vision about an eco-friendly future.” Love her dedication to this cause, would be interesting to see how she applies this to her own brand – Kay by Katrina
She has always been a front runner in the suitability mission and no one can beat her. From recycling old clothes from film sets to upcycled outfits – This Rashmi Rocket actress has always been game to wear organic clothes. Over the same, she had quoted,
I would often think that it’s sad that so many clothes which we use during a shoot are wasted. They are kept in boxes, and ultimately, thrown away. Rarely do producers think of reusing or recycling them. I wanted to try and do my bit for the environment by opting for fabric and brands that use biodegradable or recycled material for my outfits. With Mishan Impossible, I could do that. Most of the outfits I wear in this film are made out of disposable waste or biodegradable materials.
Next we have Yami, who has gone the extra mile for staying sustainable with her fashion game. The actress once flew off to Hong Kong to find sustainable designers Ever since, she has been very conscious about her fashion choices. Bringing her A game to the table, she definitely deserves some brownie points for this move. The outfit you see below, is an upcycled top made from a Himachali Shawl by @doh-tak-keh (on Instagram)
This actress has been pushing for a greener environment and sustainable living ever since her pageant days. Dia not just changed her fashion choices to align with her sustainability agenda, but also made lifestyle changes. Recently she was spotted wearing Eka Stories outfit. This brand who claims to be wearable art, is all about sustainable clothing.
