With social media being such a big part of our lives, you don’t really know who is the next big celebrity in town. It could be just anyone! And what a year has it been, we saw some The UK Weekly’s Top 50 South Asian list is out and here are some that made it to the list. A few may surprise you, just a warning!
At the top two spots, to no one’s surprise, we have Jr. NTR and Ram Charan who together featured the the mega blockbuster of the year – RRR. The film was very well received by the audience and raked in great numbers at the box office as well. The movie also featured Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, and also gave us some smashing hits like Natu Natu. Not far behind do we have the ultimate Pakistani heartthrob, Fawad Khan for his blockbuster release in Pakistan – The Lengend of Maula Jatt. His appearance in Disney+Hotstar’s Ms. Marvel definitely added the oomf factor.
What a year has it been for Alia Bhatt, and it reflects in her standing on number 4, on the list. After the success of Gangubai Kathiwadi, RRR, Darlings, Brahmastra and also signed her first Hollywood film this year. Truly been a year of love and light which makes her deserving of that number 4 spot. We also have Yash from KGF at number 6. And Shreya Ghoshal at number 7 for the number hits she has produced this year across languages.
Next we have, one of the biggest stars of Indian television right now – Tejasswi Prakash. From winning Bigg Boss to being a lead in a chart breaking show ‘Nagin’, her hardwork has brought her a long way for sure. She even left Allu Arjun behind, the star of Pushpa, who stands at the 10th position.
Other Indian celebrities on the list include…
Atif Aslam at number 13, Rashmika Maddana at number 19 and Kartik Aaryan at 23. We also had our Desi Girl, Priyanka Chopra Jonas shining bright at number 26. Followed by the ever beautiful Samantha Prabhu at number 35.
What a year has it been for these celebrities, a pat on the back is very well deserved. Making us proud with their work across the globe.
