I bet you’re all wondering what goes behind making these power packed songs, and we’ve got you just that. The Miss Malini team spoke to Nakash Aziz, the singer of Current Laga Re and here’s what he had to say about singing the song and working with Rohit Shetty.
We asked him what it was like working for a Rohit Shetty film. I was not surprised at what he had to say,
Rohit Shetty is a force and what I love about him is that he gives everyone an opportunity to shine and give their best. I have heard that Rohit Shetty used to live in the same building in Malad where I grew up as a child . And it is quite motivating to know that . This is my second song for Rohit Bhai’s film and I thank him and our brilliant composers Chetas and Lijo for making me a part of this awesome fun venture.
Quite an inspiring story I must say. But it must’ve been new to someone who predominantly sings down South. To which he added saying that the only difference for him is the language and apart from that nothing else.
And how could we not ask him about how the song fell into place, well a lot surely has gone in. Nakash called the recording process a ‘party’ and adds,
Dj Lijo and Dj Chetas got in touch with me saying they have a song which they would like me to sing and when I heard the song I enjoyed it instantly. Well the process is to just have fun . That’s the way.
