After watching Anushka Sharma in Sui Dhaga as Mamta, I was quite intrigued to see what character the actress would portray next. Then, I got to know that the actress will star in a biopic Chakda Xpress, which is based on renowned cricketer Jhulan Goswami. Today, Anushka took to social media to share the behind the scenes clip about her preparation for the legendary cricketer’s role. The movie will stream on Netflix.
Check out the video here:
The video shows the actress going through grueling training sessions to get into the skin of the character. Be it her preparation for the role, or mastering the cricketing skills, the actress is seen getting involved herself deeply into the making of this film. The video shows her look as the protagonist Jhulan.
If you watch the clip carefully, you can also make out that Jhulan herself is giving Anushka a few tips about playing the sport. The cricketer can be seen during the training sessions of Anushka.
Interestingly many people reacted to the video but one person whom I noticed was Indian skipper Virat Kohli. He poured many heart emojis to the video shared by his wife Anushka.
Talking about the film, the project has been produced by Anushka along with her brother Karnesh Ssharma‘s production house Clean Slate Filmz. The film’s plot deals with Jhulan Goswami’s journey to fulfill her dream to play for India. Interestingly, Jhulan holds the title of creating a world record for the highest number of wickets taken by a woman in an International career.
The Phillauri actress has started shooting for the film and has wrapped up its first schedule. The biopic is being helmed by Prosit Roy who has also made pathbreaking web series Patal Lok. This is his second association with Anushka after Pari.
