After going through the filmography of Saif Ali Khan, I can say that he is a versatile performer. He brought certain nuances to his character in Sacred Games which were inimitable. From a layered character often bullied in the iconic series, to a brutal and fierce Udaybhan Singh Rathore in Tanhaji and Vibhooti Vaidya in Bhoot Police, I feel the star’s range and variability as an artist is noteworthy.
I feel the success of both his offerings on OTT and on the big screen further cemented his position as one of the most versatile stars of his generation. Then I got excited when the announcement came of him playing the greatest antagonist in history with Adipurush, an unconventional yet highly intriguing casting – yet another example of how the actor continues to entertain us with his choice of films.
It’s no surprise then that audiences can’t wait to see Saif Ali Khan in Vikram Vedha, a character that takes him back to the basics of playing a tough, heroic and honest cop. The movie is a part action and part whodunnit noir thriller and encompasses high octane action sequences, drama, mystery and adventure. The film Vikram Vedha marks Khan’s return as an all out commercial hero directed by Pushkar and Gayatri.
While the film is a month away from its release there is already much anticipation surrounding the quintessential entertainer and particularly Saif’s role in the film. I am quite curious to see the actor in an unseen avatar.
The National award winner has never failed to deliver one fine performance after the next and after his winning streak at the box office and the impact he’s made on the OTT platform, it looks like Vikram Vedha is undoubtedly one of Saif Ali Khan’s most anticipated films of all times. I am keeping my fingers crossed to witness this one.
