Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan‘s film Laal Singh Chaddha is all set to release on 11th August. And while the two actors were recently seen promoting their film on Koffee With Karan Season 7, there was a story about the film that Aamir shared which stayed with me. While we all know that Laal Singh Chaddha is the official remake of the iconic film Forrest Gump, Aamir shared how it took him around 14 years in acquiring the official rights to remake the film. On that very episode of Koffee With Karan Season 7, Kareena also revealed how Aamir asked her to do a screentest for the role of Rupa. In all honesty, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Aamir and Kareen on Koffee With Karan Season 7 Episode 5.
Having said that, watch Laal Singh Chaddha’s trailer right here:
The story of Laal Singh Chaddha is truly a labour of love for Aamir Khan and sharing his attachment with the film, the actor recently shared in a statement…
Yes, it took a long time. To be exact 14 years in total but something around 8 to 9 years for acquiring the rights. So I am a bit excited and nervous as we know we have made a good film so it increases the nervousness that people will like it or not.
In the film, we will see Aamir’s character’s journey chronicle from the age of 18 to 50, what is also amazing is that the story has been shot in multiple locations in India. The reason why I am also loving the film is because of the other star cast it has, yes, we will see Mona Singh and Chaitanya Akkineni also in important roles in the film.
Laal Singh Chaddha is produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Kiran Rao, and Viacom18 Studios, it is directed by Advait Chandan. Considering the years Aamir has put into this project, I am sure this film is the one that is not worth missing.
