From the time OTT has come into existence, we have got a wide variety of content to choose from. From comedy, romance, suspense, thriller, literally everything is available on platter. I found one such intriguing story in Drashti Dhami and Gulshan Devaiah starrer Duranga. The trailer was released today and boy I am astonished by the Indian adaption of the Korean Drama-The Flower Of Evil.
Check out the trailer here:
The promo of Duranga tries to portray a story of a man Sammith Pate (Gulshan), who has the qualities of a perfect father, husband and big time liar. As the trailer proceeds, I noticed police inspector Ira (Drashti), who is trying to find out a missing link in a crucial case of brutal murders. As the story goes further, she finds out the hidden side of her husband. The search for the psycho killer forms the crux of the story.
From the beginning till end, I found the trailer gripping. It was like entering a maze from where you are unable to get out. I like the element of a perfect family that faces unconventional circumstances involving murders and a terrible past.
The thing that amazed me the most was the treatment of Gulshan’s character. He is the star of the show with complex characteristics and shades of grey. He looked so believable as a loving husband, father and at the same time, a dreaded serial killer.
ZEE5 brings many thrillers based around serial killers, one such story I could think of is Abhishek Bachchan, Chitrangada Singh starrer Bob Biswas. That film was a brilliant one!
Coming back to Duranga, the series is directed by ace filmmaker-Pradeep Sarkar and Aijaz Khan. The supporting cast includes Abhijit Khandkekar, Barkha Sengupta, Rajesh Khattar, Divya Seth, and Zakir Hussain, Duranga.
The series will start streaming on ZEE5 on August 19, 2022.
