The boom in the OTT space has brought us lots of variety in content too, but what I have loved the most is how directors and producers have been experimenting with their films too. One such film which is standing out for me is the Janhvi Kapoor starrer, GoodLuck Jerry. Right from the interesting name to the quirky posters, the film has had my attention. Now with the trailer released, I am very much looking forward to watching this story unfold. A few things I have loved about the film’s trailer is that Janhvi to a great extent is looking like her mother Sridevi, also it’s a never-seen-before side of the actress. Deepak Dobriyal too is very impressive which further stirs my interest in the film.

Usually, I have seen and known Aanand L Rai to bring us sweet, slice-of-life stories from small-town India. But this time as a producer he is bringing to us quite an emotional and masaaledaar tale. Goodluck Jerry is the tale of a daring elder daughter who ditches all inhibitions in professional life to make ends meet for her family and treat her ailing mother.
Talking about the film, Janhvi says,
GoodLuck Jerry has been an exciting experience as it gave me the opportunity to explore a completely unique genre. Siddharth has been a catalyst in truly bringing out the Jerry in me! Working with Aanand L Rai was an enriching and rewarding experience. To be a part of this film – has been a dream come true. I am excited for it to be released on Disney+ Hotstar. As an actor, it gives me an opportunity to ensure my work reaches a larger diaspora.
Aanand L Rai shares,
In GoodLuck Jerry, we created a unique synergy out of moral dilemmas and life’s compulsions surrounding the turbulent life of a comman man. Viewers can expect a punch of comedy and drama through various aspects of this film. Delighted to have embarked on this journey with Disney+ Hotstar to bring Jerry’s thrilling yet hilarious story to the audience.
GoodLuck Jerry releases on 29th July, on Disney Plus Hotstar. The film is directed by Siddharth Sen and produced by Aanand L. Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions, Subaskaran Allirajah‘s Lyca Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films.
