Today, superstar Shah Rukh Khan celebrates 30 years of being in Bollywood. And while it has been an amazing, long, and wonderful journey on this occasion, SRK went live on Instagram for the first time. Like always, King Khan was sweet, charming, witty and all things amazing as he answered the fans’ questions and I couldn’t help but adore him speak. Well, for those who don’t know, on this very special day, Pathaan producer Aditya Chopra decided to unveil a new poster of Shah Rukh Khan from the film.
Throughout the conversation that SRK had, I was only smiling ear to ear and in case you missed it, you can watch it here.
Well, I totally loved this conversation, and here are 15 things I loved the most from the conversation. Read on…
1. On which film from Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki is his favourite…
The process of filmmaking is more important to me, 90 per cent of my work entails that I enjoy the process of being an actor. I give a part of me to every film I do, so all films are very dear to me. I cannot choose between Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki, all 3 are very different.
2. On what’s been the most challenging part for him as an actor…
It is very difficult for me to laugh as an actor on screen. So I avoid scenes that involve that.
3. On Pathaan…
I wanted to do an action film like Pathaan at the age of 26-27, but at the age of 56, I am being all macho.
4. On his look in Pathaan…
I love the hair, I always had the desire to grow my hair long. Many times, Deepika Padukone and I had the same hairstyle, this is the first time I was checking with my co-actress what hairstyle she is doing so that I don’t end up copying it.
5. On his 30 years in the industry…
I never thought I will last for 30 years in the industry. I thought I will be in for a year, and if I don’t work I will take up a job, so, I finished my studies in Mass communication and economics.
6. On Jawan…
I have never done a mass entertainer kind of film, Jawan is in that space.
7. On how he celebrated his 30 years…
It is lovely to celebrate 30 years on a film set with a 15-hour day, I started shooting at 4:30 pm and shot till 8:30 am, that was the most satisfying for me.
8. On working with Salman Khan on Pathaan…
With Salman Khan there is no working experience, it’s always a happy, love experience. We haven’t really done a full-fledged together, but in the last two years, we have worked with each other. I will try to be in Tiger also, it always nice to work with him. Salman is like a brother; we don’t know who is the elder brother.
9. On doing the Chaiyya Chaiyya step like a pro…
I know the Chaiyya Chaiyya step even in my sleep. I love that song and how it was devised. I also like Chamak Challo. Listening to it makes me feel happy that these songs belong to me.
10. On his sleep patterns…
I get headaches if I sleep too long, so I only sleep for 5 hours and I am happy doing it.
11. One interesting revelation about him…
I am a very lazy person. If I don’t have any work, I can be in my bed all day without bathing with a packet of chips and thumbs up. That’s why my kids love me so much.
12. On his dream role…
I wanted to play roles like Zero, Fan, and Ra One, but unfortunately, they haven’t gone down well with the audience. I feel I could have made these films better.
13. On his favourite director…
I don’t work with anyone I don’t love, before anyone signs me, I at least spend a year with them if I haven’t met them before.
14. On being on a set…
The films I do, I make them in at least 140 days, I need to feel very happy with those set of people. I need to be happy on my sets, most of my directors have been happy directors for me. I have enjoyed working with 99 per cent of them.
15. On doing two films at a time with his latest projects…
I would prefer to do one film at a time, but last year has been a bit difficult in terms of managing time with two films.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan releases on 25th January 2023 and I cannot wait to see SRK on the big screen once again.
