Karan Johar celebrated his 50th Birthday on 25th May, 2022. And as we know KJo loves himself a celebration. He threw a party made up of literally every Bollywood lover’s dream and was attended by the who’s who of Bollywood. The party saw a massive star studded line up with everyone dressed to the nine and bringing their best fashion game for the ultimate Koffee Master. This party was literally the talk of tinsel town and I’d salvage just about anything to even be a fly on the wall for what Farah Khan jokingly calls, Bollywood‘s version of a Met Gala. The party saw almost all A-listers ace the style game, bring on the glam or go back home—Johar knows how to get the ball rolling. We bring to you some of our favourite looks from the bash.
Shanaya Kapoor
Was the mood board Bella Hadid? Because Shanaya nails this dress which looks quite like a recreation of Bella Hadid’s classic black cut out dress. The silhouette hugs her curves and the dress fits her like a glove. The sultry slits and cut outs have our jaws hitting the floor. She is wearing a Lebanese designer Giovanni D and clearly causing a rise in the temperature with this look!
Rashmika Mandhanna
Well, when Poo said: Black makes me look hot—it was clearly for this style moment that Rashmika was going to ace. She is vicariously living the Poo life and we’re living for this fit. This black cut out, fitted gown is absolutely FIRE! And we can’t get over how beautifully she pulls off this look!
Katrina Kaif
Truly a wonder in white, Katrina donned a figure hugging stark white dress with the most interesting detail on the sleeve. The full sleeved dress featured a pure white faux feather drip detailing that stole the show. Kaif pulls off this mini dress like no other, styled by Ami Patel, Kat made heads turn at Bollywood’s party of the year.
Kiara Advani
Kiara Advani shone in a stunning plunging neck white blazer from Jacquemus that she paired with the perfect glimmering skirt by Monisha Jaisingh. Styled by Laksmi Lehr, this look did wonders for the night. This outfit gave us the feels as Kiara raised the heat with her style and made quite an appearance with her Jug Jug Jeeyo co-star Varun Dhawan.
Anushka Sharma
Well, Ms. Sharma knows how to set our gram feeds on fire. This look has us at a loss of words, styled by Priyanka Kapadia in a sexy black slit dress from Elisabetta Faranchi that she paired with golden tie up heels from Gianvito Rossi and jewels from Tiffany and Co. The risqué cut outs along with the body hugging silhouette was an all in all winner.
Parineeti Chopra
Dress brighter than our future, there Pari! Parineeti grabs all the eyeballs in this stunning fully embellished mini dress from Falguni and Shane Peacock. We love the fit on Pari and one element we can’t get over, those power shoulders. This dress is just the perfect party number and with a little bit of everything!
Sara Ali Khan
Sara Ali Khan walked in with brother Ibrahim Ali Khan and can we just take a moment to appreciate the Pataudi genes. Sara wore a slit dress with an asymmetrical hemline and a belt to cinch the waist and bring it all together. The sweetheart neckline beautifully highlighted her collarbones and oh boy—black has never looked so fine!
Tara Sutaria
Is that Tina from Kucch Kucch Hota Hai? No, it’s just Tara Sutaria dropping another bomb. She looked mind blowing in this white Manish Malhotra creation with a cropped bandeau blouse and a mermaid cut, straight fit skirt. She finished off the look with a thin dupatta and well, Sutaria pulled a 360 degrees by choosing to go desi for the big day but the way she’s enamoured us with with the sexi choli. It’s a mic drop.
Janhvi Kapoor
Classic. A perfect mix of sexy and 90’s romance. Janhvi pulls of this sexy Manish Malhotra gown and truly the Manish Malhotra ladies stood out at this party. The magenta dress with a thin belt around the waist featured a thigh high slit. The leggy lass showed off her envious curves as the dress made her look like a million bucks!
Kareena Kapoor
You know it’s fashion when Kareena Kapoor does it. Bebo styles a gorgeous sequin midi dress for the night. The dress had a plunging neckline with a heavily embellished belt around the waist that she paired with a matching silver clutch. Bebo knows how to get the tempratures soaring. She walked in looking absolutely gorgeous with her very good lucking arm candy and hubby dearest smartly complementing her in white.
Malaika Arora
Malla! Does she ever do anything wrong? The yummiest mummy made one hell of a fashion statement for KJo’s big day. She styled a neon green suit set with a dusty pink bralette and the hottest piece of footwear in the fashion world at the moment, the barbie doll pink Versace heels. Malla knows the galm game like no one else. Styled by Maneka Harsinghani, she finished off the look with a glittery bucket bag from Ahikoza.
Ananya Panday
Ananya Panday chanelled her inner Kendall Jenner in this beautiful sheer silver outfit by Yousef Aljasmi. Ananya looked bespoke as she glittered her way through the night. Well, this outfit is the clear definition of blinding you with my brightness and we love literally everything about it.
Mira Kapoor
Mira Kapoor knows the tricks and she uses her style cards right. The stunner walked in looking like a gleaming doll in a black dress with iridescent, glitter designs that grabbed all the attention. She got the shine on memo right as she strutted in custom Falguni Shane Peacock, with Mr. Kapoor looking just as good in a shimmery white blazer in contrast with his wife’s dark fit.
Navya Nanda
Vision in white, truly and how! Navya graced the party in an all white suit. She donned a fitted waist coat sans a shirt and finished the look with an oversized blazer resting on her shoulders and wide leg pants. Her accessories were kept to a minimum with dainty trinkets to complete the look. Simple and classy takes the cake, they say and this look is proof.
Aishwarya Rai
The Cannes Kween is back in town and she’s here for the glam. She styled a bright gold, figure hugging dress with a sheer black jacket. Aish drips of sheer elegance and she brings her best style game to the KJo Gala. The fit of the dress along with the sultry addition of the sheer blazer only adds to the magnificence of the dress without the cover up becoming the centre focus or taking eyes off the look and that’s the best part.
Kriti Sanon
Fiery Red is the only thing that comes to our minds after seeing Kriti in that snatch sequin dress from Surya Sarkar. The plunge neck dress featured heavy sequin detailing and Kriti nailed her dress up game. Styled by Sukriti Grover for the night, Sanon kept it minimal but still got us hooked her fit.
Tabu
The loudest cheer for our saree legend! Tabu looks every bit of exquisite in this royal blue Manish Malhotra sequin creation. This look is timeless and classic and it’s an effortless style statement. Well, it’s not just on celluloid, Tabu knows how to steal the show even on the carpet. Her saree drape, the accessories, everything was on point but what caused a flutter was that dazzling smile adorning her face.
