The Cannes Film Festival celebrated its 75th year this time around and it was nothing short of glamorous. Our favourite B-Town actresses owned the glorious red carpet, and HOW! We saw them sport some absolutely chic and stunning outfits this year— from regally embellished saris to monochrome pantsuits. However, as stunning as the outfits were, the makeup was equally breathtaking, if not more.
Each and every year, we see the glitterati create quite the buzz and often break the Internet with their redefining beauty looks. And this year didn’t disappoint us at all! Whether it was edgy eye makeup or some shimmering glitter— there was a little something for all of us. Here are some of our favourite beauty moments from the Cannes Film Festival this year.
Deepika Padukone
Celebrity makeup artist, Sandhya Shekar opted for some maximalist glam here, and boy did it create a smashing statement! Her thick brows were tamed to perfection and filled in, as always. Sandhya went in for a classic matte base that still appears breathable and sheer. Deepika’s cheeks were sculpted to perfection, giving her that whole warm, sun-kissed vibe. The hero of the entire show, however, were those stunning eyes. Sandhya went the editorial route with angled, black eyeshadow and it was definitely a risque moment that we loved.
Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan
Makeup artist Val Garland opted for lots of shimmers and shine to match Aishwarya rai-Bachchan’s glittering pink dress. A sheer base seems to be all the rage since Val opted for that with Aishwarya too! Her brows appeared filled in, yet seemed natural at the same time. We see some beautiful brown eyeshadow over her eyelids with a crisp line of pink glitter making an appearance. How stunning is that? A dramatic wing was everything the eye makeup needed to look complete. We also see Val going in with some shiny pink gloss, and let’s just say it was absolutely stunning!
Aditi Rao-Hydari
Celebrity makeup artist Elton J Fernandez absolutely knocked it out of the park with Aditi Rao-Hydari’s minimalist makeup. Her striking brows were tapered with her signature shape, so dreamy if you ask us! With a fresh base, her skin looked as radiant as ever. Elton chose to opt for a wash of some neutral browns over her eyelids in order to make that bold, red lip stand out. Doesn’t a classic red lip really take a red carpet look to a whole new level? We think yes!
Tamannaah Bhatia
Tamannaah Bhatia’s makeup artist Florien Hurel took things up a notch by embracing some colour and going down the playful path when it comes to makeup. We see her with a matte base that is natural and soft. Her cheeks are blushed with a peachy-pink hue, something that we’re in love with! Notice her sharp contour that’s sculpting the cheekbones to perfection? Yup, we can’t take our eyes off it too. For the eyes, Florien went in with a variety of pinks, and magentas— all of which happen to be shimmering shadows. The most vivid pop of colour, no? Tamannaah’s lips were a subdued pink, tying the entire makeup look together oh so well.
Hina Khan
If golden glamour had a definition, it would be Hina Khan’s gleaming makeup by Liz Bomben. Hina’s base was illuminating and full coverage, a combination that you could never go wrong with. Liz matched Hina’s eyeshadow to her ethereal golden dress by opting for a gleaming gold of the same shade, and it’s safe to say that we were definitely blinded. Her bold lips are not to be missed at all, the intense crimson red is definitely one for the books.
