Both Mrunal Thakur and Aditya Roy Kapur are in an exciting space professionally. And while they have some interesting projects individually, the two have also worked on a Hindi remake of the South film Thadam. Until now the project was untitled, however, with its second schedule kick-starting today the project has been titled Gumraah. What excites me about this crime-thriller is that I will be seeing Mrunal in a very different avatar, while Aditya also will be pushing the envelope by playing a double role in the film.
Gumraah is based on true events, where we will see Aditya in two completely different avatars for the very first time. Mrunal also will be seen playing a cop and the film will showcase an intense face-off between Aditya and Mrunal’s characters. The film is helmed by debutant director Vardhan Ketkar and produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios.
Aditya had completed his first schedule some months back and today both he and Mrunal have been shooting in Mumbai for the second schedule. Actor Ronit Roy will also join them in this schedule soon.
Well, I am totally looking forward to the hardcore and intense action sequences this film promises. On the work front, Mrunal was last seen in Jersey, and now she has a South film Sita Ramam coming up with Dulquer Salmaan, other than this she also has Pippa and Aankh Micholi. As for Aditya, after Gumraah, there is Om – The Battle Within and also the remake of Night Manager.
Now that we know that Thadam‘s Hindi remake is called Gumraah, I am waiting for more details and pictures from the shoots to come out soon.
