It’s the season for baby mamas around the world and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has quickly followed suit. We’ve seen a trend with celebrities like Rhianna, Sophie Turner & Shay Mitchell having their growing bellies on display. Honestly, this is by far the most liberating and beautiful trend to have come about. Sonam Kapoor who is expecting her first child with Anand Ahuja is bound to blow our pretty little minds with her take on maternity fashion. For now, this is the first glimpse of her showing us how to nail maternity fashion. Read on for more.
Here’s a closer look at Sonam Kapoor Ahuja‘s saree look:
We all know about the relationship actress Sonam Kapoor shares with designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, the designer duo even designed the Mehendi outfit for her wedding. And since, today is Abu Jani’s birthday; of course, Sonam decided to celebrate him by wearing one of their outfits styled by her dearest sister Rhea Kapoor. Honestly, when the images hit Instagram, I felt as though I was looking at an old, mythological painting and it even reminded me of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s character in Asoka. If that movie had to be re-made, I couldn’t imagine anyone else but Sonam playing that role now that we’ve seen her in this avatar.
The silken, white saree delicately wraps around a bandeau-style blouse and body revealing her baby bump. The bottom of the saree looks pre-stitched to a dhoti style with a slit which would be ideal for an expecting mom because of how fuss-free and effortless it would make the whole saree wearing experience. We are living for the pearl detailing around the borders of the saree that look so elegant against Sonam’s skin.
She accessorised her look with a pair of silver juttis for style and function along with a temple necklace and round, statement earrings from her mother Sunita Kapoor’s jewellery brand. Wearing evil eye bracelets during pregnancy is common and it was interesting to see how she added them alsog with a few chunky bangles to the mix.
Makeup artist Savleen Kaur Manchanda seems to be working with a flawless canvas and we already know that Sonam has the best set of eyebrows because they are already strong and full. To Savleen’s credit, she did give Sonam quite the beautiful and radiant glow with a clean base and highlighter. Smokey, kohl-lined eyes highlight her gorgeous almond-shaped eyes and a muted, rose-tinted pout round up her glam. Hairstylist Marce Pedrozo opts for middle-parted hair, tucked behind her ears and voluminous, waves that really add old-school Bollywood, mythological glam to her OOTD.
