Ajay Devgn seems to have raised his own benchmark with Runway 34, as the film’s cast and crew is not only praising him for his acting skills, but also that he’s a top-notch director. Which makes me look forward to the release.
Talking about picking up this subject, Ajay said,
“The story was very strong Secondly I like to make films which are challenging. Even in Shivaay, the camera moves and the action on top of the mountain, it was not possible because no one had done it earlier. In this film the drama that we had to create in the cockpit was not an easy job, it was difficult. It couldn’t be shot in one particular way. I had to create a lot of things to create that drama.”
The actor is known to always portray heroic characters in his movies and the audience seems to love that lately, more than realistic cinema. The fact that films like Pushpa, RRR or KGF 2 have done well, proves that. But here’s what Ajay thinks of heroism.
He said,
“Heroism is having confidence and carrying yourself with that confidence and that happens if you are comfortable with yourself . I think it is missing in the scripts and the films we are doing these days.”
While we speak about the above mentioned films, Devgn also had an interesting take on Pan India movies.
He said,
“I am doing a film called Bholaa, which is an action film. But I don’t know if it’s a Pan-India film because, you can’t plan a Pan-Indian film, it just happens. In case of RRR it was different because it was a director like SS Rajamouli. After Baahubali he could only plan something like this. But Baahubali or KGF were not planned as Pan Indian films. They ran to full houses and proved successful at the box-office overall, that’s why they are now Pan India films.”
The actor has an interesting line-up of films ahead, post Runway 34 as well.
Talking about it, he said,
“Maidaan is complete, I am shooting for Bholaa, Thank God is complete. We are also shooting for Drishyam 3 and we will be shooting Singham 3. I am packed till next year. I am not listening to any scripts now.”
Boney Kapoor who is the producer of Maidaan has been all praise for Devgn and is quite gung-ho about the film.
Ajay echoes his sentiment and says,
“Yes, even I believe that its going to the best film of my career. I am not joking.”
Well, I’m definitely taking Ajay’s words seriously but for now, I’m surely excited for Runway34, just like he is. The actor has also collaborated with internet sensation Yash Mukhate and turned rapper for the film. While we await Runway 34 to release this Eid, April 29, you can check out this super cool song in the meanwhile.
