Taapsee Pannu has made a name for herself in the industry that if she is associated with any project today, its credibility automatically rises. As soon as I heard that she is collaborating with Sudhir Mishra for a short film in Anubhav Sinha‘s anthology, produced by him and Bhushan Kumar, I was invested in it from the word go. And now, this team has wrapped up the shooting for it.
In a start to finish schedule, Sudhir called for a wrap on his short in the anthology that has brought together some of industry’s finest filmmakers including him, Hansal Mehta, Ketan Mehta and Subhash Kapoor. The film thematically explores the emotional shifts of our lives since 2020 and is said to showcase emotional stories of love and compassion with the pandemic as a backdrop.
Sudhir’s short headlined by Taapsee and Parambrata Chatterjee was the first to roll amongst all the stories in March in Lucknow and now it has completed shooting. It explores a larger take on relationships and is set in two different eras. The film is produced by Anubhav’s production house Benaras Mediaworks along with Bhushan’s T-Series.
Talking about the film, Taapsee says,
“It was a wonderful experience shooting this beautiful movie. We had a ball of time, creating memories of a lifetime. Filmmakers like Sudhir Mishra and Anubhav Sinha are institutions who enhance your craft and for me, every day was dedicated to learning and evolving as an artiste.”
Sudhir adds,
“From the first draft, I knew I wanted Taapsee to do the film. We had such a great time working on it. Together we have made a film with all our heart and we hope it connects with the world.”
Producer Anubhav shares,
“Sudhir’s story was a nuanced tale peppered with love. Taapsee and Sudhir, along with the team, have made a movie I am so proud to associate with. It’s a beautiful film that is heartwarming and moving.”
This trio of Taapsee, Sudhir and Anubhav is a force to be reckoned with, and with the illustrious work behind each of them, my expectations from this short film is sky high. It is turning out to be one of the most-awaited films of the year and I can’t wait to see what other stories I will get to see through this anthology.
