I have been a cinema nerd all my life and I have seen filmmakers repeat successful pairings in films, be it of the actors or the actor-director. Although, it rarely happens that a pairing is repeated even before the duo’s first project hits the screens. But now it is happening, as Vijay Deverakonda, who is teaming up with Puri Jagannadh in the pan-Indian film Liger scheduled to release later this year, is all set to announce their next collaboration.
The actor took to his social media to announce that he and Jagannadh are reuniting for what seems to be a patriotic film and its announcement will be made tomorrow. The teaser poster has a fighter jet with some coordinates written on it with a message saying, “Next Mission Launch.”
Check out the poster:
Vijay and Jagannadh’s first collaboration, Liger, is yet to release on August 25, 2022 and it also features Ananya Panday opposite the actor, alongside Mike Tyson, Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Bose Roy and Charmmekaur. The film is based on Mixed Martial Arts and will see Vijay in a completely new action-packed avatar. A character teaser video for the actor was released on New Year’s Eve and it had created a lot of intrigue within me.
Some recent reports had suggested that Vijay and Jagannadh were coming together for another pan-Indian film which is supposedly titled Jana Gana Mana, and will mark Janhvi Kapoor‘s debut down South. It will be reportedly produced by Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions. Whether tomorrow’s announcement is about the same is yet to be seen, but I am already sold out on the team up of this actor-director duo.
Vijay is slowly becoming one of the biggest pan-Indian stars and his film choices are comprising some interesting subjects. I have similar expectations from tomorrow’s announcement as well. As for now, I am just awaiting to see what it is all about.
