The recently released trailer of Dasvi, featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur in the lead, had me laughing throughout. I am loving the setting, the characters and most importantly, the whole Haryanvi look and accent that Abhishek has got just right. While the trailer had me in splits, the latest song Macha Macha from the film has had my foot tapping ever since I heard it.

The song sees Abhishek in full zone of his character Ganga Ram Chaudhary, a Haryanvi minister, as the politician-turned-prisoner shows off his few moves in front of his fellow inmates. And I must admit, his swag is just exemplary in it. The tempo and the vibe of the song written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and sung by Mika Singh, Divya Kumar and Sachin-Jigar, the latter of whom have also composed the music, with a rap by Mellow D just captures the mood of the film perfectly and its beats just had me grooving to it instantaneously. What adds to the entertainment quotient is Abhishek twirling his signature moustache in total royal swag.
Dasvi tells the story of an illiterate, corrupt and bombastic politician who discovers the magic of education while trapped in jail and is presented by Jio Studios & Dinesh Vijan. A Maddock Films production, Dasvi is directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh and Bake My Cake Films. It will start streaming on Jio Cinema and Netflix from April 7, 2022.
While my expectations from Dasvi were already high to begin with, the trailer took them higher and now the song has just blown it over the roof. This is turning out to be an adventurous ride that I cannot wait to embark upon, and I am sure this is going to be legendary.
