Bobby Deol has been a heartthrob indeed ever since he made his debut with Barsaat in 1995 but what’s commendable now is the kind of roles that the actor is taking up. Roles like the one he played in Aashram see a complete curve for him as an actor and with Love Hostel, he has further raised the bar.
Ask the actor about the accolades he is getting and he says,
“Can you believe I’ve got maximum appreciation for playing negative roles! But the best part of being an actor is to live such roles which is so not you. When I was performing my character in Aashram I just let those emotions out. I see people behaving with other people when they do and you use that as support system when you are performing. We are human beings, we are not perfect people. We are selfish, jealous, egoistic and what makes us better is when you control those emotions. Even in Love Hostel, Dagger is so not me! I respect love. But that’s the fun part and I’m so happy with all the appreciation coming in.”
The actor also has an interesting line-up of projects. Also, there have been rumours of Soldier 2.
Responding to those rumours, Bobby says,
“I wish it was true. I don’t know.”
Further he adds,
“I’m doing a film called Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Venga. I’m working with Ranbir and Parineeti for the first time and teaming up with Anil Kapoor again so I’m excited. There’s also a film called Penthouse for Netflix. It’s directed by Abbas bhai, Mastan bhai. I don’t know when that will release. And then, there’s Apne 2.
Now that certainly is an interesting line-up, isn’t it? Bobby also opened up about his bade phase and lots more in this interview with me. You can check out the interview below.
