The country, nay the whole world, has been waiting with bated breath for the return of Shah Rukh Khan on the big screen ever since his last outing in 2018 with Zero, and I am one of them. About two years ago, the rumours of the Badshah of Bollywood collaborating with his Om Shanti Om co-star Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in an actioner titled Pathaan, started doing rounds. Since then, the film became one of the most-awaited upcoming releases without even an official announcement, and I had been waiting eagerly for it. Today, it finally happened as the makers made my day all the more happier by announcing the release date of the film. And now Pathaan has joined the long list of much-awaited actioners that Bollywood has to offer in the coming years. Here’s a look at them:
Heropanti 2
I have been waiting dearly to see Tiger Shroff’s return to his debut franchise that made him the action star of Bollywood. Recently, the actor headed to Bangkok with leading lady Tara Sutaria for the film’s next schedule, and going by the posters that the makers have released of the film till now, this one is going to be an adventurous ride that I can’t wait to embark upon.
Attack
John is all set to present the first super soldier of Hindi cinema with Attack, and I must admit that the teaser of the film, also featuring Jaqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh, has increased my excitement for it manifolds. The visual affects and the setting of the film looks too intriguing and I am now waiting to see this spectacle on the big screen.
Dhaakad
Kangana Ranaut is coming with Hindi cinema’s first female led high-octane action spy thriller with Dhaakad, and her different avatars in the film that have already been teased about, have increased my curiosity around it. Kangana is anyway so fearless in real life, so seeing her pull that side of her out on screen with machine guns in her hand, would be a visual delight that I am quite excited for.
Liger
Vijay Deverakonda is set to take the Hindi film industry by storm in Liger, and the character teaser video that the makers released on the New Year’s Eve has just made that very clear. Co-starring Ananya Panday, Liger is set in the backdrop of Mixed Martial Arts and it promises some never-seen-before action in Hindi cinema that I am curious to witness.
Vikram Vedha
The looks of Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan from this remake of the Tamil film by the same name has already pumped me up for its release. And the USP of the film for me is the angle of Hrithik vs Saif. This one is going to be one legendary outing on screen with these two stalwarts coming together and I am all ready for it.
Yodha
After the success of Shershaah, Sidharth Malhotra had to make sure that the next project he chooses after that had to be something extraordinary, and Yodha promises just that. With Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna as his leading ladies, the actor is all set to take to the skies, and the intriguing first look of Sid’s character has already left me amused.
Ganapath
After returning to his debut film franchise, Tiger is collaborating with his debut co-star Kriti Sanon in this actioner set in a dystopian future, and with a backdrop this intriguing, it has already increased my curiosity around the film. Tiger is already doing some unimaginable stunts in the present day, with the liberty of the set up being of a dystopian future, I can only imagine what new landmarks will he create with Ganapath.
Pathaan
It has been a wait of almost two years to get the announcement of Pathaan, and it finally happened today and how. The announcement video has not only increased my intrigue around SRK’s Pathaan’s backstory but also his amazing look that the video teases. Even without an official update, the film has been one of the most-awaited releases of the coming years, so I can only be certain about the uproar it will create at the box office when it releases on January 25, 2023.
Tiger 3
Salman Khan is returning with the third part of his much-loved Tiger franchise with leading lady Katrina Kaif, and with all the crossover updates that Salman has already given about Pathaan and Tiger, I am already looking forward to the setting up of this spy universe. This one is going to be epic and will surely shatter all previous box-office records.
Fighter
Along with donning her action avatar opposite SRK in Pathaan, Deepika is doing it yet again opposite Hrithik in their maiden collaboration Fighter. And DP isn’t the only common factor between the two as both these films are being helmed by Siddharth Anand. The director has already set the bar high with films like Bang Bang and WAR, and with Pathaan and Fighter in the offing, I am sure he will just take it to some other level.
Bollywood seems to have dig deep in it’s action side and these 10 projects will make sure that all of the cinema nerds like me, are pumped up to return to the big screen. I am now all set and excited for this action-packed ride, and this one is going to be legen-wait for it-dary.
