Actor Arshad Warsi perhaps is one of the most under-rated actors we have and I say that considering that it’s hard to forget any of the roles the actor has done so far. But it’s so good to see the actor on-screen again in Bachchhan Paandey alongside Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon.
During a recent interview while promoting this upcoming release, Arshad opened up about being a part of Bachchhan Paandey and much more.
About how he chooses films, Arshad said,
“My first hearing of the script is purely as an audience and that could be in any genre. You listen to your story and it’s your gut feel which tells you whether you want to be a part of it or no.”
During the interviews, Akshay, Kriti and Arshad were asked whether there are actors in the industry willing to do multi-hero films and also let other actors lead while they lead themselves.
Arshad Warsi added to that and revealed,
“I did Munnabhai MBBS because it was Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) playing Munnabhai. He’s one of the prominent reasons to do it and even Raju (Hirani) knows it. As it’s a stupid role on paper and it would have been some other actor, I wouldn’t be even seen. Makarand Deshpande said no to it. Because there was no role on paper for Circuit.”
I’m absolutely stunned to hear this but that further makes me respect Warsi for just how iconic Circuit has turned out to be! Looking forward to seeing the actor in Bachchhan Pandey as it releases on March 18.
