Over the past week, some of our favourite B-town celebs have worn some beautiful traditional looks and we’re here for it! With the shaadi season on in full swing, these looks certainly serve as some major inspo for all you ladies out there. From anarkalis to sarees, we’ve got you covered with all the styles that are perfect for any occasion for a wedding! Here are some of our faves, who we think really aced their desi look and also have us bookmarking these styles, colours and prints for when we do need to go shopping.
1. Athiya Shetty
Athiya was styled by Sanjay Kumar Dhauliya in a gorgeous, powder blue anarkali from designer Ridhi Mehra. It featured full sleeves with a v-neck and a lovely folk print all over. The anarkali also comes with a hand-embellished, pearl belt that cinches in the waist, accentuating her petite and tall figure. She is also seen wearing a tulle dupatta with ruffles that adds the perfect flair to the look overall. She accessorised with a stunning, diamond choker and matching drop earrings from the Minerali Store. IMHO, this makes for the perfect bridesmaid look for the shaadi season!
2. Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt looked nothing short of an angel in this exquisite saree from Devnaagri. Styled by Ami Patel, the diva donned an ivory, silk organza saree with resham and patra embroidery with gold. The blouse features a sequinned pattern with a subtle, scallop design on the straps. The hem of the saree also has some pretty lace detailing that glammed up the look. With her hair in an effortless bun, her statement oxidised earrings from Curio Cottage had a chance to stand out and they surely did. The actress aced this elegant look flawlessly and I certainly can’t take my eyes off her!
3. Malavika Mohanan
Malavika Mohanan exudes confidence in this fierce, blush pink lehenga set from Vvani. The lehenga is double tiered and the silver sequins detailings that are seen all-around play a vital role in that ‘oomph’ factor. The deep neck, full sleeve choli is also adorned with diamond-shaped sequin buttis all over tying the lehenga together. She is also seen with a sheer dupatta with hand-embroidered sequin all over. For her accessories, she kept it minimal with just a huge maang tikka from Anayah Jewellery. All in all, this look styled by Pranita Shetty, is certainly something I would wear!
4. Bhumi Pednekar
Also styled by Pranita, Bhumi is seen in an enchanting sheer organza fabric that looked absolutely dreamy to say the least! The Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla saree features ruffle detailing on the hem and sequinned embellishments all over, adding more character to the look. However, the star of the show was definitely the word “love” weaved in various languages rendered in red resham strings. Bhumi draped the saree in a classic style with a sleeveless blouse featuring a sweetheart neckline. She then accessorised the outfit with diamond-encrusted bracelets, stud earrings and rings from Vandals.
