Shibani Dandekar and Farhan Akhtar’s whirlwind wedding is giving us extreme Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara vibes and we’re here for it! From the vibrant and posh decor to the laidback party vibes, all the aspects of this wedding has left us feeling pretty obsessed. Apart from the setting being so different from most B-town weddings, the bride’s outfits were also quite a breath of fresh air. Shibani certainly made a statement as she broke away from the stereotypical Sabyasachi bride and opted for modern silhouettes that only amplified her personality further.
Following suit, her hubby also looked extremely dapper in an all-black tux by Govinda Mehta for the wedding ceremony. Totally made for each other if I do say so myself! All in all this wedding was a major inspo to brides all over and if you’re about to get married soon then scroll on for more details.
Let’s have a look, shall we?
The Mehendi
For her fiesta themed mehendi, the actress is seen wearing a colourful, boho-style look from ace designer Payal Singhal. Styled by Khyati A Busa, the outfit consists of a cropped blouse that has a V-neckline and tassel straps that contribute to the overall boho vibe. It also comes with a pair of matching, flared, sharara pants that look super comfy and flexible. Definitely, something I would opt for during my shaadi! The outfit features intricate threadwork in a plethora of colours along with tiny, mirrorwork embellishments all over. For accessories, Shibani wore a pair of silver, oxidised earrings from Amrapali Jewels and a beautiful bracelet made from flowers. Her hairstylist Reena Dutta, left her gorgeous locks loose with a side parting and a couple of fresh flowers. For her makeup, Cassandra Kehren, her makeup artist kept it minimal with a flawless base, rosy cheeks, mascara laden eyes and a pink lip. She sure did have the time of her life in this vibrant look as we can clearly see in her pictures on Instagram!
The Wedding
Shibani certainly made heads turn as she opted to ditch the traditional sari or lehenga look and go for a more contemporary look. Styled by Shaleena Nathani, she is seen adorning a custom made ensemble from JADE by Monica and Karishma who certainly aced the look! The outfit is made completely from lace in a lovely red colour and features exquisite, handmade embroidery all over. The skirt has a mermaid silhouette with a long trail that hugged the diva’s curves flawlessly. With its sweetheart neckline and corset-style bodice, the blouse definitely adds more character to the look. The star of the show however is certainly the 5-metre long, red, tulle bridal veil that flowed elegantly behind her! For accessories, she kept it minimal with just a pair of statement, ruby danglers from Goenka India and matching, red, pointy-toed heels with diamonds encrusted on the strap from Aquazurra. Her hair was left loose with big luscious curls and a middle parting. With a glowing base, tinted cheeks and a brown-toned lip shade, her makeup complemented her outfit perfectly. All in all, Shibani looked nothing short of an absolute dream on her big day!
