Sanya Malhotra has left me so impressed with some of her choices and performances in the recent past. Apart from that, her vivacious side and smiling face along with those curls always have my heart. Which is why, I’m totally looking forward to her upcoming series, Love Hostel. Recently, Sanya had a fun conversation with our boss lady, Malini Agarwal on Clubhouse where she spoke about her upcoming series and lots more.
When asked about Love Hostel, and if the film was slightly heavy or hard-hitting, here’s what Sanya had to say,
“I play Jyoti and Vikrant Massey plays Ashu. We are running from the families and Dagar which is played by Bobby Deol. So, they find safety in a hostel which the Government provides. That’s what it is about. And yes, I don’t know why there was some heaviness when we went on the set and all of us felt that. But I think, Shanker sir (director Shanker Raman) is not just a director, but also a therapist (laughs). Whenever any of us would feel sad or low, we would all go to him.”
Sanya can perhaps be called the queen of OTT considering the numbers of releases she’s had. Right from Pagglait, Ludo, Meenakshi Sundereshwar and now Love Hostel – the actress has been winning hearts! When asked if OTT is a boon for new-age film-makers and actors, hear what she said.
Sanya added,
We can do so much on OTT! We can make anthologies and I think because of that, a lot of people are also getting work. I’m so glad that with theatre and OTT, we are expanding and it’s a golden period to be a creator or an actor or a director or writer. Basically, it’s a golden time to do anything creative.
So true! Love Hostel is set to premiere on Zee5, February 25 onwards. Meanwhile, if you’ve missed out on this conversation on Clubhouse, you can hear some fun excerpts below.
