A while ago, we had confirmed that Ajay Devgn is sticking to Eid, April 29, 2022 as the release date of his directorial venture Runway 34, and not planning to budge. The film will be releasing with Heropanti 2 starring Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria which also promises to be bigger and better. One thought that maybe if Devgn would stick to the Eid release, the makers of Heropanti 2 might think about moving the release date. But a new poster of the film has been unveiled today and release date is confirmed to Eid only.
Check out the new poster which Tiger Shroff posted on Instagram today.
I think this poster is super click and classy. Tiger also wrote that the action and entertainment will be doubled up in the one. The film is directed by Ahmed Khan and AR Rahman helming its music is one of its highlights. Runway 34 on the other hand of course promises of a stellar cast – that of Amitabh Bachchan, Rakulpreet Singh along with Ajay and is also directed by him.
Eid is a big holiday and it’s obvious that film-makers would want to take complete advantage of it. In the past, big Salman Khan movies have seen an Eid release and proven to be blockbusters. Also, now when things are finally beginning to get on-track post the Covid scenario, clashes are bound to happen as per trade experts and exhibitors and no film would want to miss out on a big holiday.
Another big clash which is meant to happen in the coming months is that of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chadha and KGF 2 starring Yash. This tweet from Taran Adarsh also confirms the same.
Here’s hoping that despite the clash on Eid, both these films benefit from the holiday and do well. Considering the fact that they belong to different genres, hoping they won’t eat into each other’s business and the audience will welcome both. As far as April 14 is concerned, it’s also a holiday with Baisakhi falling on that day along with Ambedkar Jayanti. Which explains why Laal Singh Chadha and KGF 2 both want to come on that date.
Clearly, April looks like a month of clashes with these four releases, but I’m hoping it will be equally fruitful for the business.
