Vidya Balan is a talented Indian actress who made her debut in the Bengali film Bhalo Theko in 2003 and made a lasting impression with her first Hindi film Parineeta. The star has managed to sneak her way into our hearts and has stayed there ever since. No one can ace ethnic looks quite as Vidya does! Usually seen adorning some outstanding sarees, the actress went a different way for these looks and we’re loving it! Both the outfits were styled by Shounak Amonkar and Pranay Jaitly of Who Wore What When. She took to Instagram to say “Missing all the weddings and baaraats I did not attend” and I can certainly relate. Her looks serve as some major inspo for all the weddings that I could have been going to!
Let’s have a look, shall we?
1. The Black Lehenga Look
In this look, Vidya is seen rocking a gorgeous, black lehenga from the label Mint Blush. The set features a glam, sequined blouse with a striped texture that is the showstopper for sure. The flowy, organza lehenga skirt falls elegantly and has sequin accents embellished all over. The top of the skirt also has a strip that matches the blouse and ties the look together. Vidya also adorned a matching, sheer dupatta which has a subtle, tassel detail in the corners. For accessories, she went the minimal and simple route wearing only a silver, oxidised maang tikka from Motifs By Surabhi Didwania which honestly was all she needed to complete the look flawlessly. All in all, the actress looked nothing short of a graceful queen, to say the least!
2. The Boho-Style Look
I think it’s safe to say that this look is certainly every boho style lovers dream! This stunning outfit is off the shelves of Aseem Kapoor. The look features a black blouse with an exquisite red, asymmetrical skirt. The collar of the blouse has a colourful, patterned design embellished onto it and red line detailing along the sides. A matching design is seen on the belt of the skirt that cinches in her waist and adds character to the look. Now coming to the star of the look, the skirt. It features two different patterns printed on it, one being a circular design, and the other a geometrical, grid design with a few blooming flowers. I love a statement skirt and would definitely love to have this one in my collection!
