I’m tots loving the kind of choices Bhumi Pednekar is making. While she has films like Badhaai Do, Raksha Bandhan, Bheed and Govinda Naam Mera lined up, there’s yet another announcement now. Bhumi will be seen as the female lead in The Lady Killer opposite Arjun Kapoor. Ajay Bahl of BA Pass fame directs this one and it’s produced by Bhushan Kumar and Shaailesh R Singh.
The Lady Killer is a suspense drama revolving around a small town playboy who falls in love with a self-destructive beauty. Brimming with twists, whirlwind romance and nail-biting suspense; The Lady Killer promises a lot of entertainment.
Talking about being a part of this film, Bhumi said,
“I’m always excited when something new and challenging comes my way and The Lady Killer gripped me from the very start. As an artist, this role pushes me out of my comfort zone and gives me a lot to bite into. I can’t wait to start work on the film with Arjun, my director Ajay Bahl and my stellar producers Bhushan sir and Shaailesh sir.”
Bhushan Kumar feels the film would definitely be interesting for the fresh pairing and chemistry of the lead and Ajay Bahl’s vision and I echo his sentiment because this new pair has got me excited.
Bhushan Kumar added,
“We are excited to have Bhumi Pednekar join the team of ‘The Lady Killer’. Bhumi’s versatility and raw talent coupled with Arjun Kapoor’s style and persona is a dynamite combination and their fresh chemistry with Ajay’s vision definitely makes this a suspense drama to watch out for.”
Director Ajay Bahl who has given us some critically-acclaimed films in the past, talks about the film.
He says,
“There is a rollercoaster of emotions in ‘The Lady Killer’ and for that we needed actors who could ride it every step of the way. I’m so happy to have Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar essay these roles because not only do they suit it to the T but also bring in their signature styles and flair.”
While Bhumi has such a varied scripts in her kitty at the moment, Arjun who is still basking in the critical acclaim for Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar also has an interesting line-up. He would be seen in Ek Villain Returns and Kuttey apart from The Lady Killer. So, I’m really waiting for this whole collaboration to bring us a film to watch out for now!
