Pushpa: The Rise was such an immersive experience for me and Allu Arjun’s larger-than-life presence on-screen with the gagster swag was not something to miss out on. The film has packed a huge business of Rs. 81.58 crores in India so far; amidst the pandemic situation. The fact that it’s done so well even in the other markets besides the south, is commendable. Looking at this tremendous response, the makers have reportedly decided to shoot the sequel even earlier than the expected schedule. As per an article in Bollywood Hungama, the sequel to Pushpa will go on floors in April 2022.
According to this report, director Sukumar Bandreddi will be making some changes in the script of Pushpa : The Rule before starting the shoot. Apparently, since Pushpa got such a huge response even in Hindi, the director wants to re-write some sequences to further meet the taste of the Hindi viewers. Reportedly the action will be taken a notch higher.
There were also reports that a Bollywood A-list actor will join the cast of the sequel but a source dismissed that and added and Allu Arjun is enough of a Pan-India star now because what Baahubali did to Prabhas’ stardom, Pushpa : The Rise has done that for Arjun.
Interestingly, Pushpa: The Rise will also be streaming on Amazon Prime from January 14 onwards and I’m sure it will be so well-received even on OTT. I am so looking forward to the sequel and hoping that this gangster drama will surpass the expectations and benchmark set by the first part.
